I specialize in working with older adults and adult children families wanting to do focused work on particular life decisions. I also work with younger families coping with cancer or other health crises. Some issues I work with are: parenting during cancer,  caregiver issues, older adults parenting adult children with challenges. A unique service I offer is facilitating the difficult conversations people need to have when faced with big news, aging or illness or end-of-life planning. These are issues often better discussed with a counselor before one is in crisis, not in a hospital room or lawyer's office. What if the kids have different ideas for a parent's end of life care? How can one plan a legacy that protects family relationships, not just assets? How does a whole family grieve together instead of grow apart when faced with a loss? How do you talk as a family about health, and end of life issues? I also work with families whose adult children are coming out, marrying across faith or culture, or parenting in different ways than they did. These knotty, intergenerational issues are ones I enjoy helping any 2 or more members of a family work on together.
